JGA is a Chartered Architectural Practice based in Leicestershire that specialises in Residential and Commercial development.

Our services cover projects from inception through to completion, across all RIBA work stages. We undertake feasibility and master planning as well as the planning and construction stages of projects for our Clients that include Regional Developers, Housing Associations, and Main Contractors.

Vindis

Client: Burmor Construction Ltd.

Location: St.Ives, Cambridgeshire

Sector: Residential

JGA were appointed by Burmor Construction Ltd for the detailed design of this 94 unit scheme, in St.Ives, Cambridgeshire.

The scheme is comprised of 64 apartments and 30 houses, on a site that sits in an area deemed at risk of flooding. This means that all habitable accommodation is set above site level, with under croft parking to much of the development.

A raised boardwalk connecting elements of the development together, provides the potential for dry access and egress in the event of a flood.

Alma Road

Client: Accent Housing (Planning), Lindum Peterborough (Construction)

Location: Peterborough

Sector: Residential

JGA were appointed by Accent Housing to assist in delivery of a small infill site, accessed via Alma Road, Peterborough. The site had stood vacant for some years, and being surrounded by various residential properties, required a delicate approach. After successful initial discussions with the Peterborough City Council, a Planning Application was submitted for a total of 12no. Apartments, dedicated parking, and open green space.

Following the appointment of Lindum Peterborough, and planning approval, JGA were retained to provide architectural services through to completion.

Donington Co-op

Client: Minster Property Group Ltd. (Planning), Burmor Construction Ltd (Construction)

Location: Donington, Lincolnshire

Sector: Retail

JGA were appointed by Minster Property Group to design a retail store for their Client,  Lincolnshire Co-op. The scheme consisted of a main 4,250sqft retail store and warehouse, along with a further secondary store, and generous parking area.

JGA were retained by the Main Contractor, Burmor Construction, for the construction period, and were responsible for detailed design of the shell and core.

Drake Avenue

Client: Minster Property Group Ltd. (Planning), Burmor Construction Ltd (Construction)

Location: Hempstead, Peterborough

Sector: Residential

JGA were appointed by Minster Property Group to design an apartment block on a brownfield site in Hempstead, Peterborough, on behalf of their Client, Cross Keys Homes. The scheme for 33no. apartments includes both 1 Bedroom and 2 Bedroom units, with dedicated parking.

JGA were retained by the Main Contractor, Burmor Construction, for the construction period, and were responsible for detailed design.

Thurlby

Client: Burmor Construction Ltd.

Location: Thurlby, Lincolnshire

Sector: Residential

JGA were appointed by Burmor Construction for the detailed design of a single dwelling in the village of Thurlby, Lincolnshire.

This dwelling forms part of a wider development of three individually designed dwellings, all with amazing views over open countryside.

With four bedrooms and open plan living incorporating large amounts of glazing, the end product is an amazing family home.

Elm

Client: Burmor Construction Ltd

Location: Elm, Cambridgeshire

Sector: Residential

JGA were appointed by Burmor Construction Ltd, following their appointment by Cross Keys Homes, for the construction of 27 dwellings in Elm, Cambridgeshire.

The scheme, which is constructed using a timber frame system, was Burmor’s first MMC project, which we were delighted to be a part of, given our extensive experience with timber frame buildings over the years.

Bottisham

Client: Minster Property Group Ltd.

Location: Bottisham, Cambridgeshire

Sector: Residential

JGA were appointed by Minster Property Group, to provide architectural services up to Planning Stage. The scheme for 50no. Units was granted full planning permission in June 2022, and will be taken forward by Accent Housing as a fully affordable housing scheme.

Along with providing much needed affordable homes for the area, the scheme also provides allotment space, along with landscaping and biodiversity features to assist in integrating the development into its surroundings.

Long Bennington

Client: Minster Property Group Ltd.

Location: Long Bennington, Newark

Sector: Residential

JGA were appointed by Minster Property Group to assist in the development of a greenfield site in the village of Long Bennington, Lincolnshire.

The scheme had a number of difficult site constraints to overcome, such as proximity to the A1, and historic site / village flooding issues.

The integration of an acoustic bund, along with SUDs features meant that 43 units were achieved for Minsters Client, NCHA.

Wisbech

Client: Minster Property Group Ltd. / RG Carter Ltd.

Location: Wisbech, Cambridgeshire

Sector: Residential

JGA were appointed by Minster Property Group for the delivery of 137 dwellings in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

Once planning was achieved, JGA were retained by the Main Contractor, RG Carter Ltd, for the detailed design.

The development is constructed using a timber frame system, and provides a mix of types and tenures for the end user, Platform Housing Group.

Crowland

Client: Cross Keys Homes (Planning), Burmor Construction Ltd (Construction)

Location: Crowland, Lincolnshire

Sector: Residential (Affordable)

JGA were appointed by Cross Keys Homes to help in delivering a predominantly greenfield site for much needed affordable housing. The scheme for 30no. units was granted Reserved Matters consent in May 2021.

The development looks to incorporate a generous amount of open green space, along with retention of a mature tree belt to the eastern boundary of the site.

JGA have been retained by the Main Contractor, Burmor Construction, for the construction period, with a start on site programmed for early 2023.
